Bartolomeu is known as one of
the main explorers of the gold cycle in Minas Gerais and Goiás,
Brazil. He was a Bandeirante - colonizers who made expeditions in
search of the Brazilian wealth and enslaved and murder Indigenous men
and women in the interior of the country - and a slave trader that
inherited from his father the name and surname Anhanguera (old devil)
that was given by the indigenous people. The monument is located in
the Trianon park, on Avenida Paulista, São Paulo. Brazil.
